Heavyweight boxer Jared ‘Big Baby’ Anderson was arrested in Ohio for driving under the influence with a gun in his car, according to TMZ.
Anderson (16-0, 15 KOs) was initially pulled over for speeding after an officer saw him driving 55 mph in a 45-mph zone.
The officer claimed to have smelt ‘the faint odor of burnt marijuana’ along with alcohol on his breath, while also allegedly seeing an open bottle of Don Julio tequila.
The 23-year-old’s eyes were said to be ‘bloodshot and glassy’ according to observations made by police. Upon having his blood alcohol levels tested, Anderson measured at a .038 – which is under the .08 legal limit.
As part of the stop officers conducted a search of the vehicle which led to the discovery of the firearm in the vehicle’s glovebox.

Tyson Fury recently praised Anderson as a future champion of the heavyweight division
He was booked on two charges; improperly handling firearms in a motor vehicle knowingly transporting under the influence and operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI).
Anderson has won all 16 of his professional contests to date, stopping Ukraine’s Andriy Rudenko inside five rounds in his last bout back in August.
Back in July, he got the better of former IBF heavyweight champion Charles Martin via unanimous decision.
His arrest comes only days after he was praised by Tyson Fury as a future champion and the next star of the heavyweight division.
‘Jared’s the man. This is the future champ,’ Fury said ahead of his bout with Francis Ngannou at the end of October.
‘I said it three years ago. This is the heir to the throne.’
Anderson began his boxing career as a teenager and has won several championships ranging from the Elite National Championships to the National Golden Gloves.
