Anthony Joshua is working hard in the gym as the announcement for his next fight looms ever closer.

AJ uploaded a picture of him deadlifting a gargantuan amount of weight, with the caption: ‘Ain’t nun 2 it, but to do it.’

It appears the muscle-bound boxer isn’t planning on slimming down after weighing in at a career-heaviest 255lb against Jermaine Franklin last time out. In fact, he appears to be even heavier.

Joshua is expected to return to the ring on August 12 at the O2 Arena with his camp  well underway.

Although not yet officially announced it is understood that he will rematch Dillian Whyte in his next outing.

Joshua and Deontay Wilder have come to an agreement in principle for their  Saudi showdown

The pair have been locked into negotiations for the last few weeks and according to Sky Sports ‘The Bodysnatcher’ has now signed his side of the deal.

For a time it seemed as though AJ would have to look elsewhere for a new opponent after Whyte refused to agree to a one-sided rematch clause in Joshua’s favour.

However, the clause has since been detracted on Joshua’s request as they look to settle their score in a winner-takes-all shoot out.

Providing the former unified heavyweight champion comes out victorious he will then project himself into a blockbuster Saudi showdown with Deontay Wilder in either December or January.

Hearn recently confirmed that the fight is now ‘virtually agreed’. Speaking to Boxing News, he said: ‘We virtually have a deal. Agreed in principle, subject to a few final discussions on stuff.

‘They [Skill Challenge Entertainment representatives] are staying [in London]. We are seeing them again on Monday. I think we are in a good place.

‘We want to fight on August 12. It’s important to his development and momentum that he does, that’s still the plan.’
