The Vegas Golden Knights take a 2-0 series lead to Sunrise, Florida for Game 3 against the Panthers.
Obviously, it ‘aint over until it’s over, but if the Golden Knights can win tonight, they can probably start getting fitted for their Stanley Cup rings.
The Panthers have been void of the magic that helped them win in the first three rounds as Sergei Bobrvosky has turned into a pumpkin at midnight, even getting pulled in Game 2 after allowing four goals on 13 shots.
Can Florida get back in the series with a win tonight? Let’s dive into the betting odds.
Golden Knights vs. Panthers odds, puck line, and total
Golden Knights vs. Panthers prediction and pick
I bet on the OVER in the first two games of this series, but with oddsmakers increasing the total from 5.5 to 6, I’m going to shift to betting on a side instead.
I see no reason to not back the Golden Knights to keep things rolling. Not only have they been the better team on the scoresheet, but the analytics back up their play as well. They lead the Panthers in expected goals and high-danger scoring chances.
Sergei Bobrovsky will get another shot in between the pipes tonight, but I think we’re finally seeing him play to his true ability at his current age. The long break between the conference championship and the Stanley Cup Final, may have halted his momentum.
Let’s remember that he had a save percentage in the regular season of just .901, along with a goals against average of 3.07.
At 34, that’s a lot closer to the goalie we should come to expect as opposed to the .925 save percentage he has in the postseason.
The clock has struck midnight for Bobrovsky and the Panthers. It’s Golden Knights or nothing for me tonight.
