The Vegas Golden Knights needed less than two minutes in overtime to notch the winning goal in Game 1.
Now, the Dallas Stars are seeking to even up the series at 1-1 before it heads to Texas for Game 3 and 4.
Let’s dive into the odds for the Sunday’s matinee matchup and then I’ll give you my best bet.
Stars vs. Golden Knights odds, puck line, and total
Stars vs. Golden Knights prediction and pick
Game 1 was a close battle but despite the Golden Knights winning in the end, the Stars did have the slight advantage in the analytics department.
For example, the “expected goals” numbers leaned the Stars way at 3.36 compared to 3.18 for the Golden Knights. The also had one more high-danger scoring opportunity than the Golden Knights.
Once again, Jake Oettinger didn’t live up to his potential in the opening game, but his history of stellar play in the postseason gives me faith that he’ll turn things around today.
Given the Stars are once again set as underdogs, I like their chances to pull off the upset today and even the series at 1-1.
