There was no shortage of runs in the opening game of the AL West series between the Oakland Athletics and Los Angeles Angels.
The A’s scored the winning run in the top of the 9th, ending the game with a final score of 11-10.
Now, the two teams will face-off for the second game of a four-game set with Mason Miller (4.15 ERA) facing off against Griffin Canning (3.48 ERA).

Athletics vs. Angels prediction and pick
Until something changes with the Oakland Athletics and how they’re performing, I see no justification for betting on them. We’re only a few weeks into the season and the A’s already have a run differential of -102. That’s 50 runs worse than the next worse team, who are the Royals at -52.
Mason Miller was solid in his first Major League start, allowing two earned runs in 4.1 innings pitched, but even if the rookie can put together a solid performance, the A’s will eventually have to turn to their bullpen which has a 7.03 ERA (!!) as a unit.
That’s disgustingly bad.

Griffin Canning will be making his third start tonight after allowing two earned runs in each of his first two appearances this season. As long as he can resist imploding, the Angels bullpen (3.67 ERA) will bring it home for the Halos.
It’s Angels or nothing for me in this AL West battle.
