The Milwaukee Brewers have a chance to complete a three-game series sweep against the Seattle Mariners tonight after winning Game 2 in extra innings on Tuesday night.
The Brewers are in the middle of a stretch against American League teams and they’ll head back to Milwaukee to face the Boston Red Sox in a three-game set this weekend.
Eric Lauer (5.28 ERA) will take the mound for the Brew Crew tonight and he’ll face-off against fellow lefty, Marco Gonzales (4.22 ERA).
Let’s dive into the odds for the game and then I’ll give you my best bet.
Brewers vs. Mariners odds, run line, and total
Brewers vs. Mariners prediction and pick
The Brewers and Mariners have something in common in that both teams have struggled against left-handed pitchers so far this season.
Milwaukee’s OPS drops from .776 against righties down to .631 against lefties. Meanwhile, the Mariners’ OPS drops from .688 to .639.
That could be a bad sign for both offenses today, as the starting pitcher matchup is a battle of lefties between Lauer and Gonzales.
Even if the offenses are able to score a few runs against the starters, the bullpens are well poised to lock things down. The Brewers hold the best bullpen in baseball so far in 2023 with an ERA of 2.05, and the Mariners bullpen also ranks inside the top 10 with a bullpen ERA of 3.18.
All of this lines up perfectly for an UNDER bet, so that’s how I’m going to wager on this interleague showdown.
