3 NHL stadiums you have to visit in person

A live hockey game is one of the greatest experiences in sports and these three NHL arenas are absolutely worth an in-person visit.

The NHL is one of the most unique of the major sports leagues in the world.

So many things need to go right for a hockey team to win games, highlighted by the club’s ability to work together. This is a team sport that requires the participation of everyone on the ice to put together a winning squad.

Going to a hockey game is a one-of-a-kind experience if I do say so myself. There may not be another league where the players control the game more than hockey.

The atmosphere of going to an NHL game is second to none. It’s a fast-paced, loud environment where passionate fans are constantly on their feet, the players are lightning-quick and get into a ton of fights on the ice and the action is seemingly non-stop.

Today, we’re going to break down three NHL arenas that you must visit in person as soon as possible.

3. Little Caesars Arena, home to the Detroit Red Wings

Funded by the late Mike Illitch, founder of Little Caesar’s Pizza and owner of both the Red Wings and Detroit Tigers, the Red Wings moved here from the equally famous Joe Louis Arena and actually share the place with the NBA’s Detroit Pistons.

On the outside of this gargantuan arena, you’ll see the “Spirit Murals“, which are huge tributes to some of the most popular people in Detroit’s history including Eminem, Aretha Franklin and Isiah Thomas.

Another cool aspect of this beautiful arena? The manhole covers. Yes, you read that right. On the lids of all manholes inside of the concourse, there’s the Red Wings/Pistons version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, featuring the names of some of the greatest players to ever don the uniform.

Our friends at the Detroit Free Press took the time to post a gallery of over 100 photos of everything you must check out at Little Caesars Arena and these pictures speak for themselves, need I say more?
